What is the Silver Coast?
Portugal's Silver Coast boasts a striking coastline of about 150 km, starting about an hour north of Lisbon up to Aveiro. Frequently mentioned by visitors as the real Portugal, it is a largely unknown, but stunning region. Offering a cool climate, vast sandy beaches, natural scenery, enchanting villages, hospitable & tranquil people, exquisite local cuisine & wines, historic monuments and traditions, and is a great place to live or visit.
Where is the villa located?
The holiday Casa do Lago is located in the tranquil beach village resort of Foz do Arelho, which is at one hour to the north of Lisbon and in the hearth of the Silver Coast. In front to the house there is the sea branch of Obidos Lagoon, a focal point and a scenic part of Portugal. Besides Foz do Arelho beach and many others, there is the beach of Sao Martinho do Porto. Is the villa Casa do Lago all enclosed and designed for families with kids?
Yes, the property is designed with just family life style and kids amusement in mind. Some of our facilities:

Yes, the pool is heated and safe for kids:
The pool heating system is regulated to 30 Celsius (we try to keep that temperature from April to October)

How many cots and high-chair are in the villa? Are there baby cutlery and bed guards?
Yes, inside the property there are: baby cutlery, bed guards, 3 high-chairs and 3 cots available.
In demand one more cot and high-chair can be added.

Is there one wet-room ? Is there a commode shower-chair?
Yes, we have two adapted bathrooms with wheelchair accessible wet-rooms.
Our villa offers one self propelled bath and toilet commode shower wheelchair, as well as one tilting shower chair / toilet commode with head rest support for upper body stability problems. To learn more about our accessibility, please visit our disabled friendly page.
Are there grab rails in the shower room?
Yes, grab rails are in place, in the shower rooms of both bathrooms.
Is there one electric profiling bed? Is there an electric bed hoist?
Yes, we have one electric profile bed in the lilac bedroom and also one electric hoist.
Is there a hoist in the swimming pool?
Yes, there is a removable, easy to use pool hoist in the swimming pool, allowing a safe pool access for disable people.
Is the swimming pool heated?
Yes, the swimming pool is heated. The pool heating system is regulated to 30 Celsius. Between April and October, we try to keep the water temperature around 28 C - 31 C.

FAQ about booking procedures:
How far in advance do I need to book the villa?
As soon as you book, larger options to elect you have.
You are required to send to us your payment for the balance of the Rental and the Security Deposit eight weeks prior to the Arrival Date.
A fully refundable Security Deposit will be required to be paid at arrival, or prior to arrival.
We will hold the Security Deposit to be applied against the reasonable cleaning and/or replacement of the property, furnishings, fixtures, fittings and effects.
We will return the Security Deposit to you within 24 hours of the return of the room keys.
How much of a deposit do I need?
25% of the total rental fee.
When is the final payment due?
Eight weeks prior to the letting or earlier.
What is included?
A welcome pack on arrival.
A weekly bed linen / towels change and a general cleaning before and after your staying. Electricity, gas, water, wireless Internet, air conditioned and heating oil. The use of all bikes, facilities and equipment inside the villa and this includes the disabled equipment.
What are the cancellation fees and procedures?
If you need to cancel or amend your booking you must telephone to the property owner as soon as possible and confirm your cancellation by email.
a) If you cancel your booking more than eight weeks prior to the Arrival Date, we will retain the Initial Deposit and refund the balance of any money you have paid to us.
b) If you cancel your booking less than eight weeks prior to the Arrival Date, we reserve the right to retain the Initial Deposit and the Rental, and refund the balance of any money you have paid to us.
In these circumstances we will refund the Rental (less any additional costs you incurred), if we are able to secure an alternative booking for the Property.
c) Alternatively, when sending your written cancellation, you can choose to be refund by our following table fee for cancelled reservations:
Period before arrival date within written cancellation is received by us and amount of cancellation fee shown as a percentage of the holiday cost:
More than 56 days: deposit only /
31 - 56 days: 50%
30 days or less: 90%
For your peace of mind, we recommend you purchase trip cancellation insurance.

Lisbon airport (LIS) is the nearest one and is located at one hour driving distance from the villa, through a modern motorway.
Do you have travel directions to the villa?
Yes, after the final payment, we will send you full instructions how to get to the villa.
How to book airport transfers?
